Description
Organic mehndi (henna) cones are made from the dried, powdered leaves of the Lawsonia inermis plant, mixed with natural ingredients like essential oils (lavender, tea tree, or cajeput), water, and sugar. Unlike "chemical" or "black" henna, natural organic cones provide a safe, temporary reddish-brown stain and are generally safe for skin.
Allergy advice: While organic henna is generally safe, natural allergies or sensitivities to essential oils can occur.
Essential Oil Sensitivity: Some people are sensitive to essential oils like eucalyptus, which is common in henna paste. If you have sensitive skin, ask for lavender or tea tree oil-based, or "sensitive-safe" blends.
G6PD Deficiency: Individuals with Glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency should avoid henna entirely, as it can cause red blood cells to break down.
Patch Test Requirement: Always perform a patch test 12–48 hours before full application. Apply a small amount on the inner arm, let it dry, and monitor for itching, redness, or burning.
Caution: Avoiding Toxic "Black" HennaNEVER use "instant," "fast-acting," or "black" henna cones. These are often toxic and contain harsh chemical adulterants rather than natural henna.
Chemical Additives: These cones often contain PPD (para-phenylenediamine), which is illegal to use on skin, or substances like phenol, kerosene, and gasoline.
Dangers: Chemical henna can cause severe burns, blisters, itching, permanent scarring, and long-term sensitization.

Loved Across the UK for Authentic South Indian Groceries
Thousands of happy customers trust us for authentic Indian groceries online in the UK.
Everything arrived fresh and well packed. This has now become my go-to store for all my Tamil groceries.
The 24–48 hour delivery is a huge plus. It saves me so many trips searching across different shops.
The best part about SI2UK is the variety. I was able to order ingredients that I usually ask relatives to bring from India.
